Popular Types of Construction Tape

Some of the most common types of construction tape include the following:

• Foil Tape. Foil tape works as a moisture and vapor barrier. It is particularly effective for heat reflective purposes. Foil tape helps seal out dirt and dust from duct sealing applications, wire harness applications, underground cable applications, and more.
• Double-Coated Foam Tape. Double-coated polyethylene foam tape is coated on both sides with a high-performance, solvent-based acrylic adhesive. It has quick stick sealing properties, making for efficient operation and secure bonding. This type of tape features good resistance to oil, grease, mild acids, and humidity. It also can conform and compress easily.
• Electrical Tape. Electrical tape is a pressure-sensitive vinyl that gives complete electrical and mechanical protection for most general taping jobs.
• Poly Sheet Seaming Tape. Seaming tape performs well under numerous conditions, as it has excellent low and high-temperature performance and high adhesion and strength properties. Seam polyethylene sheeting when used as a vapor barrier.
• Cloth Tape. Cloth tape is a one-step plasma masking tape constructed with a silicone rubber and glass cloth backing. It is coated with an aggressive high-temperature silicone adhesive. While it withstands grit blast, the plasma spray process allows it to be removed cleanly.
